Description

Glucophage is the oral diabetes medicine, which is prescribed for the management of type-2 diabetes. Metformin hydrochloride is the main pharmaceutical ingredient present in the Glucophage. Metformin belongs to the category of Antihyperglycemic drugs. Metformin exhibits action by reducing the sugar level which is produced by the liver and which is absorbed in the stomach or intestine. Metformin is not used for treatment of type-1 diabetes.  In Type- 2 diabetes the pancreas fails to produce sufficient levels of Insulin.

Who should not take Glucophage?

  • If you are suffering from Kidney, liver and heart disease.

Use with some cautions

  • Avoid drinking of Alcohol because it causes the risk of lactic acidosis.

In case of skipped dose of Glucophage

In case of overdosing of Glucophage immediately talk to your doctor and get some medical treatment.
